In case anyone was wondering, the guy in those trivago ads is Jurgen Klopp. And these ads are terrible yet hypnotic.

Just watched THE ADJUSTER for the first time, and I cannot believe that it has taken me this long to watch this. Egoyan has not some great films, but this has to be his masterpiece, right?

Okay, my issues with the pacing and the quick sketching in of the first two episodes of DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN are smoothed out in episode three.

On the plus side, MICKEY 17 is playing around me. On the downside, IN THE LOST LANDS doesn’t seem to be playing anywhere. I want high quality films and trashy B movies, dang it!

What are the problems with the new show? There is a little too much gloss in the look of the show, and the pace is a bit too frantic thus far. Likewise, right now the new supporting cast isn’t quite clicking. The actors are good, but the characters themselves feel stock.

There is also a slight touch of Mark Steven Johnson’s Daredevil film to DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN. Not in a bad way, but the show is a bit more stylized and broad than the prior show.

DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN is damn good, but to be clear: this is not darker than the old show. For all the cursing and violence, this plays like an ABC prime time drama.
