Dear Colleague: How does our society explain the many(!) educational outcome gaps between middle-class white students and low-income students of color in academic achievement, access to ed resources, school quality, graduation/drop out rates, college enrollment, disciplinary actions etc, etc?

Dear Colleague: Grounded theory and pedagogical precision are my resistance tools of choice when helping pre-service teachers better understand the many ways race/class/gender/sexual identity influence the in-school experiences and academic outcomes of young people.

“At the end of the day, our ability to have a pluralistic, diverse democracy requires some foundation of kindness and grace,” ...And I believe in that so strongly that even when it’s difficult, I will seek to summon it.” We should all be so lucky to be represented by such a great person in Congress.
