I've spent some time trying to figure out how Matilda's armor works. It's fantasy armor, so it takes inspiration from Valyrian steel (A Song of Ice and Fire), a rare, hard-to-work-with material. She "crusades", so this isn't armor for going to war, but for raids. Something valiant for quick combat.

The character's poses and physique is taken from body builders and matadors. He should have a calm, cocky pride. A rooster or tiger comes to mind. In this earlier draft I thought of mutton chops, curlier hair, and a chest shield. but I think I will settle for a more lax costume.
