I think another way to make the world feel lived in is by developing commoners, like children. Their fashion, their mannerisms. This is a race lost to time, stuck in an apocalypse. Not lost in culture, proud. Their clothing should tell a story of their environment. It should rhyme.

Cherubs do have gender roles, but they aren't particularly strict. So, I have to be mindful about how certain roles are presented in their culture, but also give them biases. "Handsome" women. "Pretty" men. Maybe weakness to them is associated with efficiency at a chosen role? Still ironing that out
