Since we moved apartment (March) & gained access to a balcony, I have realised just how much I have missed gardening in the 5 years since we came to Germany. This is my herb trough, the first thing that's really come together. More (much) to come. Maybe I should start a series. #balconyGardening

Today's lunch: I love arancini. Followed by a small divine chocolate truffle laced with a little rum and covered in white chocolate and pistachios. A little Italian café in Frankfurt (Casa Nostra) who make the pastries: more precisely by Antonio's (joint owner) dad who was a pastry chef in Milan.

Just had the best Saturday luncheon: homemade leek & potato soup + crusty brotchen and some Stilton I managed to get from Frankfurt's Galeria markt (expensive). It's a Colston Bassett too so worth it. Followed by a slice of stollen (made last week) & proper cappuccino made with the espresso machine.

So it's cooked and this is just before I introduced it to the brandy bottle and wrapped it up for the night. It will get another feed in a few days and we'll eat it at New Year I think. #Christmas #ChristmasCake #Christmas2025
