Two somewhat contradictory beliefs I hold: 1. You should absolutely overengineer your personal homepage/blog/projects. Experiment with as many things as you can as quickly as possible. 2. If you _really_ wanted to write that blog post, you'd figure it out with a .txt file. Don't overcomplicate it.

In case it’s helpful to anyone else… my local `vercel dev` randomly slowed down to 1-2 sec for every request that went through it—even assets. No idea what it was until I realized that the requests were directly affected by the number of files in my repo. Using `.vercelignore` instantly fixed it. 🌠

Just troubleshooted (shot?) an issue that stumped multiple AI models, but was the first Stack Overflow result when searching Google. 🙃

Update: I got my hopes up too soon. While the fixed worked locally, it broke production and further attempts by the AI agent to fix it ended up down red herring rabbit holes and used up all my “premium request” credits for the month… in a single night. 🙃 bsky.app/profile/did:...

If this actually works, I’ll never say anything bad about AI ever again. (if only coding agents were around when we had Webpack…)

Late to the party, but I’m blown away by YouTube TV—a great example of a service that breaks the traditional design paradigm. Instead of focusing on channels and a scrolling guide, just pick the shows & sports you like and we’ll pin those and DVR every single time they’re on TV… like every time.

I’ve since learned that this happened because Plaid routinely closes accounts for companies that go under, and a different startup with the name “Cushion” went out of business, but Plaid mistakenly thought my account belonged to that company, so they closed it. Goodness. 😳 bsky.app/profile/jonn...

Somehow my Plaid account (of 8 years) has fallen into a weird state where they think I’m a new user who hasn’t been verified, so out of nowhere, my users see “internal error” when the Plaid widget opens. And because I’m not “verified”, their dashboard doesn’t let me contact support. Serenity now.
