An astute viewer has pointed out that this is not, in fact, a spotted sandpiper. They suggested perhaps a Lesser Yellowlegs, but after conferring with a few birder friends with much more knowledge than I, and checking with iNaturalist, it seems this fine feathered fellow is a SOLITARY SANDPIPER.
