I get cleaning the litter box, and have a method for complete disinfection/cleaning when the litter needs to be replaced, but I still feel like...what do I do with the old litter? I put it in a trash bag and throw it out but is this what everyone does? Ha, I feel like such a moron sometimes. 🫠

Sat down in a chair for a few minutes and fell asleep. Woke up to a cat in my lap.

Heard a clicking noise in my tire yesterday while driving to REI. Figured I'd picked up a rock and it would just kick out. This morning the PSI is down to 17. I now have another flat tire in this car. It's been like 4. We even got new tires thinking it was just a crappy choice by the dealer.

Well, it's done. With an assist from the 3yo and constant complaints from the almost 9yo the tree is decorated with all the ornaments that are not glass. Now there's plenty of room for new ornaments! I'll just pretend the 2.5 boxes of glass ornaments don't exist anymore.

This is as much decorating as I've done this year. E and I made the paper chain garland today. There are only two ornaments. I'm just really struggling this year to get in the spirit and I don't trust that one not to destroy anything we hang in the tree.

I've already consulted @erincarly.bsky.social but I want to know what type of camera backpacks y'all use. I need a smaller one, something in the 15L-ish range, and there are too many options for my brain to handle. Help me Bluesky photographers, you're my only hope!

I ordered new glasses 2 weeks ago because my fancy $$$ lenses were so scratched I couldn't see at night while driving. Instead of getting the fancy ones again I went for regular single vision because I wasn't sure the fancy ones were worth it. One week in and I can't see up close with the new lenses

The 8yo wants to learn to draw graphic novels/manga and I cannot find any classes nearby. RCPA is only offering 5 art classes for the winter and none are useful. Fairfax has a few but it means I need to drive to Fairfax. Does anyone know of any classes or clubs closer than Long Branch?

I have two pairs of girls Nike shoes that my kid refuses to wear. They're brand new and (thanks ADHD!) I missed the window to return them. Does anyone know where I can donate them that they will go right to a kid and not be resold? So not Goodwill or any place like that.

If you need a blood draw done for a kid I cannot recommend the Inova pediatric lab at Willow Oaks over by Inova Fairfax. They were amazing. The 3yo didn't even flinch and now wants to become a phlebotomist. She said she loved going there! They gave her a pencil! Eleven thumbs up!

3yo fighting bedtime until 9:45: "but I'm just not tired! I can't fall asleep!" I ask her to close her eyes for a minute and if she doesn't fall asleep she can go downstairs and bother her dad. Sound asleep almost instantly. I want to wake her up just to rub it in her face that I was right.

Let me preface this by saying I don't drink coffee but as a person with a working nose that appreciates and enjoys the smell of freshly ground coffee, the Starbucks Season's Cheer coffee smells atrocious. My 3 yo is currently freaking out about how bad it smells.

After trying pine litter and getting an immediate refusal I'm now trying World's Best litter. I only mixed in a little bit but Sunshine (the refuser) took advantage as soon as I cleaned the box. Cookie is TBD. Poop odor is just killing us. The pee doesn't smell at all. *rages at sky in frustration*
