Art labour is unsustainable not because there isn't work in the arts, but because art labour is regularly and routinely not compensated. I had business executives scoff at the idea of paying for the rights of content. To them, art should be free. To them, artists are undeserving of compensation.

I still find it baffling that our culture engrandizes self-centered, short-sighted, and evil CEOs While we have epic, sexy, cool artists who definitely fuck who also tend to be good people. Fuck CEOs replace them with eccentric artists!

Capitalism doesn't care about a free market. It cares if it makes money. If a free market makes more money, they support it. If a restricted market makes more money, they support it. The most successful capitalist is one influencing government to institute the market that makes it the most money.

Also printmakers are like the coolest people in the #arts community. Like they all look like they would go to the coolest cafes, bars, and maybe play bass guitar... and would also not talk to my nerdy ass.

I find printmaking to be one of the most interesting and intimidating art forms, and I don’t know why.

The construction of artistic hierarchies was never a measure of quality, rather it is the expression of power. Who gets to be seen, who get to be skillful, and good is and was the choice of elites and the powerful. The alienation of the individual from the arts is the result.

One of the most frustrating things about being an artist is trying to explain why making money as an artist is hard. It feels like non artist just think it's waving a wand and Shazam you are rich. And if you aren't rich, you just suck. Bleh

I wanted to try new things and I was successful at doing that XDD art can be fun, even if the end result is not what you wanted.

Not everything you do as an artist needs to succeed. I originally was doing large gestural drawings and sculpture, and when I left school I need to change. Wet mediums and inks was a way of achieving that change. But I am still learning the medium, and this piece sucks. I am happy it exists though!

So I was was watching the news and some cheap ass news station was talking about Banksy's new art piece, and they were saying that "people are debating the meaning" honey aint no one debating the meaning of a man blinded by a flag walking off a plinth. Banksy's is as subtle as a nuclear bomb.

one cool thing about AI is how quickly I can identify unhealthy communities. Unhealthy communities tend to desire simpler, essentialized, and fictitious depiction of the other. So they drift towards tech that inherently won't question them, while producing the perfect image of the hypothetical other

When the shadow became the frame, the depth of the facsimile became too distant to justify the zeal and reverence for the fiction. The fiction became the bullet of dogma, the frame the edict of class, and the image became pointless. I was demystified, yet the shadow remained, the giant exists.
