Did my 8th (I think) Ironman Santa Cruz 70.3 triathlon this weekend. Beat both my goals--under 2:00 for the run, and under 6:00 for the whole race. Not sure how many more of these I have left in me, but I'm proud of this one!

Unfortunately #Ash is not very good. Slow paced and too reminiscent of other, better sci-fi/horror movies. A couple nice elements that aren’t fleshed out. Including the titular Ash! Cool space suits though.

On my run, I flipped off a #Cybertruck, because I don't like Nazis. The guy did an illegal u-turn in traffic to come back towards me, then illegally parked in the exit of a parking garage to get out of his car and yell at me, trying to pick a fight. Remember folks: be safe when harassing Nazis.

Ran a 6:06 mile on the treadmill in Orange Theory today. My PR from 2022 was 6:03, and I think I could have beaten that with better pace management, but I'm still happy with it!

Weekend movies: Flight Risk was bad (mostly the script. Just terrible) and Presence was good! Spooky, not really scary, more of a mystery than horror. Interesting use of POV and cinematography.

I thought Squid Game season 1 was fine, maybe good, but not great. I didn't know why it was a worldwide phenomenon. So I had low expectations for Season 2, but shockingly, I think it's much better than Season 1! I really liked it and am now excited for Season 3 later this year.

Shockingly, #WolfMan is not the worst canine/human mashup movie of my week! #Nightbitch on Hulu takes the crown.

I'm sorry to say that #WolfMan has the novel concept of "Hey, instead of werewolves being cool, what if they were gross and sad?" The transformation, usually the highlight of a Wolf Man movie, lasts over half the runtime and does not make for a fun time at the theater.

Learning Japanese has been fun but it feels unfair to have to learn the katakana alphabet when I’m still struggling with hiragana.

Better Man has no box office longevity, but I've heard it's good. I also care nothing about Robbie Williams...but is the movie good enough that I should see it this weekend before it's gone from theaters?

Lovecraft Country had a better Goonies episode than #SkeletonCrew. Also, it was very unfair of A Man on the Inside to make me cry without warning. I thought it was going to be a comedy! (To be clear, it is, but it's also melancholy and emotional and very good).
