Every time I see some exec hyping up "AI" QA testing, I can't help but wonder if they just discovered the concept of automated testing. Some tester wrote a quick script to have the character run in circles until it either falls through the world or the game crashes, and the exec's brain melted.

Win some; lose some. Massive CCG collection I just bought (from a shop I trust) looks almost completely picked clean. After sifting through 10k+ cards, there are basically 1/10th of the Rares (and higher) than opening random packs would yield, and nothing over $2-3.

I am such a sucker for vintage Lord of the Rings stuff, especially from the late 70's with Rankin & Bass' 'The Hobbit', Ralph Bakshi's "Lord of the Rings', and so much sick fantasy art, like this 1979 poster by Judy King Rieniets.

Started unpacking a blind-bought 1,000 card collection that just arrived. Initially disappointed that there wasn't a single Rare card, but everything was from the same set, in perfect alphabetical order, and basically all in Near Mint shape. No big jackpots, but damn was that easy to inventory!

Did I just buy 30,000 cards for an old CCG that hardly anyone plays anymore!? Yes! I was already eyeing the lots anyway, but then the seller halved the prices out of nowhere. Hurt the wallet a bit still, but it's gonna be fun sifting through it all for treasures!

Don't wait until AFTER you buy something to complain about "high" shipping costs / demand it cheaper. It's part of the cost. Budget accordingly. There's a reason eBay factors in shipping when sorting by price.

After opening so many varieties of trading card packs, both English and Japanese, it's fascinating the different forms of "random" used. Funny sometimes opening 36 packs and having 20 of 1 common and none of another. Then opening another set and getting exactly equal numbers of every card.

TIL the OG Famicom released in 1983 with only 3 games, all arcade ports - Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, & Popeye. The first non-port game released on Famicom wasn't for another 4 months - Popeye's English Fun. Duck Hunt came out 10 months after launch & Super Mario was over 2 years after.

Scored a glorious stack of vintage 1980's Super Mario guidebooks from Japan that'll be making their way up on eBay in the next day or two. Picture is about a third of the score. Also snagged a couple 1980's Zelda booklets, some Final Fantasy VI stuff, and a dozen or so vintage Pokemon booklets.

I finally threw away the box my phone came in. It was quite liberating!
