🎲✂️ Well, the BGG 2025 Roll & Write Comp has wrapped up. It was a lot of fun and taking part helped me get over the line with Dawn Chorus's design. My best awards were 3rd place for best multiplayer game, and 4th place for best overall game. I'm absolutely chuffed with that!

This is a good take. Plus it is simply so much effort to make a good idea into a great game, why bother doing it to some else's 🤔

I'm working on a concept for the game jam using Hedgeways tiles where players are placing tiles and moving their meeple along them. Players are trying to 'harvest' specific colours by leaving a block on them. It's quite abstract at the moment but it's looking fun 👌

The Game Crafter have just announced their game design competition with colouring as the core element. This is a restriction with a very wide scope it feels like.. Looking forward to trying to put something together!

🎲✂️#6 Whistling Dragons. So to get a dragon to breathe fire you need a circus performer to teach it. And the circus performer can't balance so you need a cat to teach it. But the cat can't meow, etc. This is a cascading card game about making combos off previously played cards.

I haven't played it yet, but it looks like Earthborne Rangers is a very solid piece of game design. Any board game that is able to make a playable and immersive sandbox simulation is incredibly impressive. I can't wait to play it!

🎲✂️#5 There is a square grid and each player controls a 'snake'. This is three blocks of their colour. To move, place the block from the back of your snake to the front. Snakes grow with more blocks, and moving over certain spaces allows for actions. The goal is to eat all the other snakes 🐍
