#ChronicIllness gang: how do you cope when your body throws a new trick into the mix? I'm struggling right now because I've been dealing with a period of worse fatigue and pain, and just as I'm starting to manage that the New And Interesting IBD has flared up because misery loves company...

My friend set up a Trans Advocacy UK group on FB a few days ago, it's already got over 500 members. I'm so proud of her (and very happy to be the #nonbinary representative admin!). It's been really heartening to see so many cis allies posting who don't want trans rights eroded in the UK.

I hate horse racing season. These people claim to love horses so much (hint: because they make them so much money) but force them to race in events where many horses are killed or injured to the point where they have to be euthanised. Pain is controlling my life, because it stops me sleeping properly. When I can't sleep I can't function as my pattern gets thrown off, and I'm too generally unwell to manage on too little sleep. However, under new NHS guidelines for pain management I just need to THINK POSITIVELY. #chronicpain

The irony is, I was on DLA (what's now PIP) before I was physically disabled by EDS. When I was "just" mentally ill. & it qualified me for the full whack, or did in 2005. By the time I reapplied in 2015, #mentalhealth was hardly mentioned. I worry greatly for the me's of today. #DisabilityBenefits

I can't really handle thinking about the possibility of benefit cuts to PIP. It's literally my only income, as under the current system my partner is assumed to be my "guardian" of sorts ergo his income counts as my income for means-tested benefits (which it isn't, of course). #benefitcuts
