#herbchat Jacob’s Ladder is questionable. Some sources say it is poisonous. Some say it is edible but bitter as it ages. Some sources say use the above ground plant for herbal medicine. Others say use the ground root. I’m confused. I’ll just look at the lovely flowers.

Everything I’ve read suggests that Jacob’s Ladder can easily be grown from seeds. I was given mine as plants so haven’t tried it but I will. #herbchat My experience is the common purple flags are the hardiest here, but most do well in zone 7. They are also commonly used for roots. I have not personally dried the roots. I always plant even the slightest piece of root. Lots of success.
