Something I think about sometimes is how to use mallet percussion without music sounding like DCI front ensemble music haha. Not that that sound is bad, of course, but still.

I find it revealing that these days any time I see any (especially indie for some reason) thing have themes about personal flaws that feel like a mirror I get extremely upset about it very quickly and shove it away fast. I would put a value judgement on this but I'll let you all do that, I'm tired.

I try to focus on making the gelatinids cute, but I do wonder if sometimes I should be really allowing more them looking slightly ugly haha. I think that adds some visual interest but I'm trying to determine when it's like intentional looking or when it's just erroneous tbh LOL.

It's fun that my test rig is old enough to have a CD/DVD drive (with Lightscribe, even). I may have heard misinfo but I heard internal optical disc drives are not being made anymore???? Maybe it's more that the discs themselves are not really being produced now.

Another odd thing: I noticed (and I could be proven wrong in time) that manila folders seem to work decently for a "I don't have anything else" quick and dirty solution to paint cheap acrylics on LOL. I legimately have done it and it wasn't too bad a result but I'm also not a painter sooooooo

While there is absolutely no way I would have predicted this, I lowkey wish that when I was in HS ceramics I at least had enough forethought to try to make all the pieces have a similar enough color palette or at least a color scheme of some kind so they don't look so out of place next to each other

It's funny as I'm trying to do inventory on all my traditional art supplies (I need to not be allowed to buy anymore lowkey unless it's something to help organize them or like a MAJOR necessity lol.), I realize how many brushes my siblings and I probably burned through as children.

Re watercolor: I will say though while a neat medium it definitely can be unforgiving and frustrating I've learned too a bit. Like the amount of fuck ups I've had trying it is a lot which messes with my "i like to have some level of demonstrated successes" brain regards of beginner status.

I find it funny that a lot of the majorly common watercolor mistakes I have made and probably will make again revisiting the medium. But what's more interesting to me is how it has been compounded by when I started it again in 2020 or so I used some repurposed poster paper matte side lol.

Re my last post but can stand on its own: I really need to actually use my traditional supplies. Must be that "week long hyperfixation" striking again with me having bought them in the past and then used them only for a little bit. Fortunately I was smart enough not to get the most expensive supply

Pain, I realized the hard way to make sure that your markers/brush pens have the cap *airtightly* closed lol. Could be a design flaw but some of the brush tip markers in a pack I have the cap is MOSTLY on but not all the way and unsurprisingly they are dry now (it's been a few years).
