I essentially don't get to sleep for two days, so I am letting myself writing stupid songs as a treat. I wrote this one about not being in bed with my girlfriend at 6 am.

Just so it’s on the record. The comics journal interviewed me and I told them I had always been paid and when asked what Silver Sprocket owes me I told them Silver Sprocket does not owe me anything. Why it was not in the article is only speculation, but the article is not every detail of the story

I have been published by @silversprocket.net for a long time I have done the math and my royalties have always been higher than other publishers would have paid. My animation work and everything I have is thanks to them. Those expenses being paid in whole or part by personal debt is a big deal.

I have been talking to a LOT of people trying to break into indie comics that do not understand how our market works. To make a living on the normal royalties of 10% of cover on a 20 dollar book you need to sell 20k copies a year to make 40k. If you sell 2k copies you did a good job.

Advice for the youth. You are going to die. If you build your artistic career around the desperation to make a living, if it works you have to spend your life making that art. Do not compromise. You can make anything and it’s worth the pain and risk to do something worth your time.
