I remember crying/laughing with a friend when the first Garfield comics came out in the 70’s. I remember getting every book through the 80’s. I am the target audience for Garfield Secret Lairs. I can’t decide if the Secret Lairs are the dumbest things I’ve ever seen or something I love.

This was delivered to my desk just now by my lovely wife. Snacking bacon makes Monday mornings so much better!

I live near the Boston Marathon route. I can tell you that fans don’t really start lining up to watch until the pros are already done. The last spot to park on my street just filled and the men’s race is long over. Cheering on folks who might not finish is far more fun.

Just discovered a new card for Ol’ Buzzbark!

Spent much of the day upgrading a few decks. Adding a couple of cards to a few decks doesn’t take long, but logging all the upgrades to the online decklists added more than an hour.

Dandan and Commander prove that people want different things from Magic. Commander: Enjoy the variety and wacky interactions of 4 decks, ending with a cool play. Dandan: Enjoy the wailing of my opponent as they recognize the futility of life, demonstrated by a stack of cards that say, “no.”

Rosewater and WotC consistently equate design with sales. They believe better design will mean more $. Good design doesn’t necessarily mean good sales. I love to see the development of abilities over a block, but it doesn’t sell as well. Magic in blocks is a better designed game, but makes less $.

Overcame some issues at work, helped an elderly neighbor shovel their sidewalk, cleared my daughter’s walkway while she was away on vacation, had homemade sourdough bagel for breakfast, homemade black bean soup for lunch, then went to our favourite pub for dinner. I would call this a great day!

Lunch was good.

Managed a win with Grenzo in a 5-player game last night. New card Teval's Judgment did work! Old card Viashino Heretic took out two opponents! Jaya Ballard's ult with Sangromancer out shoved my life total into the stratosphere and made Treasonous Ogre a mana machine!

Looking forward to some #EDH tonight! I’ve made some minor changes to Grenzo and Thopter 3000 and I’m eager to see how they play out!
