South of Midnight first impressions (played up to chapter 6): absolutely blown away by the art and voice direction. Writing and performance on point. Combat is simple but picks up in intensity after the first hour or so. I can't speak enough on how much I love the worldbuilding and themes.

Hate being excited for a game, looking at its Steam page, and then seeing that it uses generative AI. Completely torpedoes my interest, no matter how cool it looked before. InZoi and Drive Beyond Horizons being two recent examples.

On that note, though, while I am overall a fan of the 2024 edition's formatting for statblocks, I do mourn the loss of natural language when describing actions.

Monster Monday had us cooking up a gargantuan, chaotic good, curmudgeonly frog with a draconic flair who takes on black dragons and guides lost souls through swamps, while also protecting the sanctity of those biomes from industrial interlopers. Trinket Tuesday starts in ~20 minutes on my twitch!
