fact is objective information. opinion is a personal belief ignorance is a lack of facts and stupidity is rejecting facts in favour of opinions. sadly, too many politicians and podcasters understand this well and take advantage of stupid people that don't even realise they're stupid.

The common good is a set of shared commitments. To the rule of law. To democracy. To tolerance. To equal opportunity. To upholding the truth. We cannot have a functioning society without these shared commitments.

Appalled by the violent scenes of police being attacked at the Tommy Robinson rally today. Those responsible should face the full force of the law. These far right thugs do not speak for Britain.

today, as tommy robinson rallies domestic abusers, football hooligans and poorly informed racists, remember being patriotic is NOT about flags and hate. patriotism is working to make our nation better; help those in need, work in our communities and raise our families to be tolerant and curious.

yesterday, no better way to spend a day than a 14.7 mile with Chris Woodhouse from Blakeney out to Blakeney Point and back - including 7 punishing miles of shingle. sunshine, blue skies, crystal clear seas. Chris even had a walk on the moon π

a jubilant January. RunBuddies (my running club) have been raising donations for Nelson's Journey for our challenge this month and being part of a brilliant group helps no end in smashing my personal demons. I managed 259.13 km or 161.01 miles in 31 days and uncountable laughs too.

just after my birthday I had my 50+ health check - 4 years late. a couple of days later I got a text informing me that I'm a type 2 diabetic with a HbA1c of 118 mmol. normal HbA1c level for someone without diabetes is below 42 mmol/mol. For people with diabetes, an ideal level is 42β53 mmol/mol.

sadly, I missed out again on the New Year Honours list for services to Stalham Town Mini Kickers, not having a Saturday morning lay-in for another year and fairly reffing youth footy matches locally. maybe if I'd supported the mindless slaughter of babies in Gaza I'd have been in with a chance

today, I ran 17.87km /11.1 miles with the RunBuddies. I ran 81.5km / 50.6 miles since Dec 22nd (8 days). I ran 180km / 111.8 miles in December. just two weeks ago, I convinced myself that I wouldn't be ready for a half marathon in February. 3 years ago, I struggled to get upstairs.
