I do love power-hungry, manipulative women in film. #15 on my own list. Could/should possibly have been higher.

Train Dreams: not enough talking, not enough rooms. Looked gorgeous though.

Unlike Daniel with his boy, I will not be abandoning this film.

In my own top 50, one of Scorsese's many masterpieces. I first saw this around the age of 12 or 13 after watching Bugsy Malone (shoutout @betsygo.bsky.social - iykyk) and wanting to see what else Jodie Foster had done as a kid. This was ... a bit different.

I remember when I first saw this film (far too young and at a sleepover), the thing that freaked me out most was the creepy Red Rum chant and then the reveal in the mirror. Had to have this in my own top 50.

This was a fun chat - even if (or especially because?) we didn't always agree!

I know I say The Odyssey is my most anticipated film next year but it might sneakily really be this...

Loads of fun drafting 1990s Oscars winners with @revalmanac.bsky.social, @moviearcher.bsky.social and Klarissa from I've seen that one. I got 3 of my number 1 picks, 3 of my number 2 picks and my wildcard was my favourite of many options so I'm happy with my team, even if Adam sabotaged me TWICE 😉

Had this on my list! My first James Stewart film, possibly my first Hitchcock. I probably first watched this around the age of 7 or 8 due to my mum's love of Jimmy Stewart.

A wonderful film which is scarily realistic and relevant today.

In my 50, very close to breaking the top 10. Give it a couple more years for the legacy and influence to really be felt and it'll make it in. A modern masterpiece.

Had a great time with Del Toro's Frankenstein. The cinema was full and the audience really into it. The crafts are incredible as expected from a GDT film. The big surprise for me was the outstanding Jacob Elordi performance. More thoughts in this review for @revalmanac.bsky.social: boxd.it/byhBCp

Watched Atonement for the first time yesterday. There is a literal child r*pist but yet for years I had been led to believe that the kid (albeit a jealous, meddling, lying kid) is one of the biggest film villains?!

I did the Rocky run up those steps in Philadelphia before I'd ever seen the film, it's that iconic. Nowhere near my top 50 but this does happen to be my brother's favourite Best Picture winner.

One of the films I watched most frequently as a child. A nostalgia pick for my own top 50. I probably still know every word to every song. Also Christopher Plummer, I was not familiar with your game at the age of 7 but....🔥

I had the chance to see this at a 25th anniversary screening a few months ago. Another of these massively praised movies where you see it and think "actually, I get it". The chemistry is off the scale.

I don't care too much about Wicked but I am always here for Colman's red carpet looks.

With the greatest respect to Chris Nolan and Interstellar, this is my favourite film of 2014 (and featured in my own top 50 list submitted to the Cinema Legacy Poll).

This is another big one. What a beautiful, charismatic actress she was, who truly elevated everything she was in.

In my own top 25 and might well have been higher if I had rewatched it recently. The blueprint for all journalist dramas.

I remember seeing this in my ballet phase many many years ago and being completely transfixed - had to include it in my own top 50.

Absolute MASTERPIECE. I will forever advocate for this film - watch it, I dare you not to relate to it in some way.
