I think “grinding” and “difficulty spikes” in JRPGs are good. Like, when a boss kicks your ass so you leave, do sidequests, try different character and equipment combos and come back 10 levels higher I think it’s super rewarding and it encourages you to think more deeply about the mechanics

I don’t exaggerate when I say Bubsy 4D gives me hope for the future of games We still live in a world where a celebrated studio can make a sequel to one of the worst games ever that respects the source material and plays incredibly well. Art still has a place in this cynical industry
