I think the reason doing poorly at VGC tournaments feels so bad for me is because literally nothing else is going well and VGC has kind of been what I’ve poured myself into as an escape, so when VGC isn’t fun it just means everything sucks.

How do you stop letting results control how you feel about vgc? I see that advice all the time but it just doesn’t even feel possible. It feels like I’m not improving at all despite putting more effort into it than any other interest I have. I’m tired of leaving majors wishing I hadn’t gone.

I was 8-1 at 129th place in the gc, then decided to stream some games and turned 8-1 into 10-11 and I’m at 4522nd, which is currently my lowest gc placement ever. My therapist is legitimately going to be hearing about this.
