We often say about PhDs: ‘it’s a marathon, not a sprint’. I’ve signed up for my first ever 10k race this July and I’m a bit nervous. So I’ve been doing a lot of research about longer races and now I’m not sure a marathon is the best metaphor.

Track 2 "Innovations in Health Research" started with Sarah Curtis's presentation "Language difficulties in adults with Down Syndrome: Distinguishing typical patterns from Alzheimer’s indicators". This research aims to expand possibilities for earlier diagnosis and improve caregiving. #ntudoctoral

Parallel panels begin! Track 1 "Tales from the Field" takes off with Louise Reynolds's presentation "Leadership and culture ‘building’(?) online: Initial findings of an interpretative phenomenological analysis of the experiences of UK online-only school leaders". #ntudoctoral

First presentation of the Culture and Society panel by Alexandra Lala Imberh, titled “Set in stone? Mapping changing cultural and natural landscapes on the Isle of Portland” It’s so interesting to see memory studies interact with technological innovation in recent research projects. #ntudoctoral

Day 2 takes off with the Lightning Hour. Session B begins with Louise Bonnard and her presentation titled "The efficacy of prebiotics and synbiotics on asthma outcomes: A systematic review of marine and human studies" #ntudoctoral
