Coming home from a Boston #aseees conference exhausted but uplifted feels all the more wonderful because it was after a Boston conference about a decade ago that I ended up in tears at the airport. It hit me then that I was solidly mid-career and had no idea how to face that or what it really meant.

Today at #aseees24: during the last session I completely lose it during my paper and the entire room ends up laughing uncontrollably for several minutes. I am a little bit embarrassed? But what can you do. It turns out a paper on accidental death brings out the absurdity of human existence.
