Absolutely easier than Haggar. Long range and FAST jab, powerful infinite, can kill huge hordes offscreen with his knife spam, is good with weapons. His down air makes it easier to jump into enemies and milk some damage before a throw, even against Sodom (who he makes very easy) and Rolento.

I really like the rapid fire technique in the original Ghosts ‘n Goblins. Adds just a nice touch of execution but doesn’t override too many dynamics or outright deletes enemies. It’s also precise enough where panicking can really hurt you.

Playing Super GnG

Well, was able to completely no miss the first loop in Under Defeat. Didn’t do that well in the second, only lasting until 2-3, but it’s something.

It’s funny that TakeOver 2 has what is functionally the Cody FF infinite (and even more powerful, overreaching, with simpler execution) but will not get complained about as much because it doesn’t have the aesthetics of an exploit.

Got a new pb in Under Defeat. Improvement by about 500k. Grinding the Extra loop individually has been a great help. Frustatingly close to the 5 mil mark. 2-All shouldn’t be too far off.

Got my best Hardest run of GnG yet. Finished with 6 lives. (You see 5 but by the end after it tallies up all the points, it comes to 6.)

I think stage 4 in Ghouls is probably the best stage in that game. Feels like the one where the randomness is most impactful and also the one that requires strongest game plan. There’s always some sort of pressure on you, from spawns/descending terrain, etc. Really encourages forward momentum.

Probably not a game more undeserving of its “hardcore” reputation than Contra: Hard Corps. Every counter is so segmented with tons of dead air inbetween. Abundance of easy safe spots where the you’re barely pushed out. Game just completely crumbles with the slightest of knowledge.

Is Woon gonna be the best beatemup since Fight’N Rage and Ninja Saviors? Most likely!
