I’ll take it a step further: stop asking for sequels. Games and series don’t stop existing just because they’re not making sequels to them. If a bunch of indies pop up inspired by an old game, that doesn’t mean they should make a sequel, it means you have a cool old game AND a ton of cool new games!

Also, remake culture highlights the weird "art vs product" aspect of the medium. The need to remake or "fix" games subtly implies that only a game's written/cinematically presented plot holds ageless artistic relevance, and that gameplay and visuals are merely entertainment products. That sucks!

Finished zeta gundam, and feel like the original show’s more sporadic messiness just took over the sequel series. I don’t think it does a good job conveying the motivations or thought processes behind a bunch of characters’ actions, and when it does it can be really ridiculous or even offensive

People praising this now, but what this looks like in practice is going to be decreased scopes that will almost certainly make people mad when they finally get the game in front of them. Don’t imagine there’s a win-win situation here.
