The marble & bronze sarcophagus memorial for Cardinal Pietro Foscari (d 1485) looks incongruous in the Costa Chapel, Santa Maria del Popolo, Rome That’s because it was originally in the Foscari Chapel, which was demolished in 1600 The 1505 altarpiece by Gian Cristoforo Romano is also magnificent
