Calling this an unholy mess is an understatement, especially the more you look at it. Remind me again why tech companies & their CEOs are so desperate to make generative A/I/ work?

Since this post, I have made some minor additions and some additional progress. Won’t share just yet, but suffice to say that I might be done with painting sooner than expected.

Not to be that person (and I apologize in advance)—that’s nice in all, but I REALLY hope we get a possible update regarding KH4 as well. It would also be nice.

So… I’m about six episodes into Amazing Digital Circus, and what do I think so far? Pretty solid show and even though it’s my first blood the series, I can tell there’s a lot going on in terms of the characters and story.

The late great Bob McKnight's artwork is at risk of being seized and destroyed if something isn't done about it. His dearest friend and mentee Rob Griggs has set up a GoFundMe to help save his property, including his extensive art archives. Bob LOVED animation and it's history, help preserve it!

A small-ish update—still painting and they’re about I would say 70 to 80 percent done. Just need to add highlights to the antlers and claws, paint the pupils, and then bumping up some of the scales and add the sheen.

A lot of small business and indie artists are unaware of uline’s shittiness. They’re bad! Don’t use them! I am currently using mailersUSA.com for my packing materials, and as far as I know they do not fund fascism.

No more using Moleskin anymore after this. I’m definitely open to alternatives for both as notebooks and sketchbooks in the near future.

In other news, I’ve unfortunately let too many payments pile up. On the one hand, I’m thankfully doing fine money wise, but on the other hand, I need and want to save money whenever possible. Hopefully, come June it’ll be possible.

Made even more progress with my sculpture today and with any luck, she’ll be finished sometime next week. Of course, it’s not completely done until the base is complete and I got ideas.

On top of that, there’s a certain paint I’ve been trying to track down, but unfortunately, it’s either under a name or is outright discontinued. I’m hoping it’s the former rather than the latter because I hope to use more of it in the near future.

Progress is going great with my sculpture! I can’t wait to share once their scales and eyes are fully painted. Plus I’ve been doing my best to clean up the edges on the feet. The front are fine, but the back feet are tricky for obvious reasons.

Goofed up on the scales, and will repaint them. Would talk about what went wrong, but to make a long story short, they looked weird when painted against the black paint.

First day back to work after a brief break was… EH? But in all seriousness, it was fine, except with dealing with some customers I hope not to come across anytime soon. But I’m home, and I’m going to relax by painting my sculpture.

Was a productive day today. Just not for me, mainly helping a friend with her booth at the local comic convention. I actually enjoyed that experience and here’s hoping that I can do the same sometime soon.

So in effort to catch up on media I’ve been meaning to get around to, I decided to give the first episode/pilot of the Amazing Digital Circus a shot. So far, I’m impressed. No spoilers please.

Last repost: I wanted to share that post as it’s a very good valid take, especially in this day in age. For my two cents, it shouldn’t be just Disney/Pixar (even though I feel like the executives are guilty of this mindset), but should extend to all major animation studios as well.

This infuriating attitude shows up on the bookshelves in learning environments, too. We expect girls to empathize with boys, but we kneecap every opportunity to let boys empathize with girls. And look where we are.

Not even done with my sculpture, and I’m already bouncing off ideas for the next projects. One is two small versions of the same Pokemon (hint: it’s my favorite Pokemon) and the other is a diorama of a certain location in one of my all-time favorite games.

So anyway, I finished priming my sculpture. I hope to start the actual painting process sometime this weekend, though it depends on if I’m tired or not from going to SC Comic Con for the next couple of days.

Having read the article, it’s important to note that the film was cancelled late 2023. But even so, it’s not a good look on the executives’ part, considering prior films both from Disney and Pixar. Especially the ones where there’s a female lead. /1

The art you see posted for free online is not yours to do whatever you wish with. At the very least check the artists profile to see permissions, or directly ask them. Really sick of the entitlement people have towards an artists’ original work especially.

As much as I like gesso as a primer, I hope that can later invest in an airbrush at some point. Hopefully, this year if I can find the right one as well as affordable.

Not to bring down the mood, I discovered that yet another of my favorite go-to places (a boba tea bar in downtown) closed down over the weekend. And it was one of my favorite places, too. 😔
