We are delighted to announce that Sebastiaan Van Nuffel has been awarded the Vickerman Prize for his extensive track record in mass spectrometry imaging, specifically time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS), and its application in biological and medical research. Congratulations!

The final talk of the Summer 2025 UKSAF meeting is from Anna Kotowska of the University of Nottingham. She is presenting her work on the chemical analysis of biofilms with Orbi-SIMS.

Our final session begins with a talk from Clare Newell from the The Francis Crick Institute and NPL with her latest work on cryo-orbiSIMS.

Next up we have Marcus Rohnke describing work on hard carbon battery anodes. Following this will be vendor presentations from SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH (Paul Dietrich), IONTOF (Matthias Kleine-Boymann) and Scienta Omicron (Ad Ettema).

This afternoon's session began with Sebastiaan Van Nuffel covering various interesting applications of TOF-SIMS imaging.

Jean-Paul Barnes is our next speaker, describing his group's work on correlative work using TOF-SIMS, XPS and SEM.

Our next session is underway with an entertaining and insightful talk on advances in quantitative atomic scale TEM from Sarah Haigh from the University of Manchester.

We are pleased to announce not one but TWO winners of the UKSAF Riviere Prize. Firstly Jiro Matuso is honoured for their work in the development of ion sources for surface analysis.

Our second Travel Award presentation is from Charlie Chandler from Surrey on new developments in XPS depth profiling.

We are starting day 2 with two UKSAF Travel Award presentations, first up is Yizhuo Ding from the University of Manchester.

Our final talk today is from Elizabeth Legge from National Physical Laboratory (NPL) focusing on Raman spectroscopy of pharmaceutical materials. Next up vendor presentations from Thermo Fisher Scientific, Blue Scientific and Kratos Analytical, before our poster session & conference dinner.
