If I’m being honest, my lukewarm reception to Octopath 0 and Pokemon ZA had me concerned that I’m just getting older and losing my rabid excitement for upcoming games. I’m very excited to say that the fire emblem announcement today has set aside those fears. I am so insanely excited.

I was actually able to listen to the direct at work this afternoon and there was one section that buffered a lot and I ultimately missed what the game was, but just listening to it I thought it would be up my street. What do you mean it was yet more fire emblem three houses???

It’s truly insane how, since I started writing my hobby novel at the back end of 2020, I have now met multiple people with the same *uncommon* names as my characters.

I have a horrible habit of being a month or two late to finally watching the big animated movie of the year. It took me forever to watch Nimona last year, for no real reason. Anyway, finally watched K-Pop Demon Hunters. I don’t know why that took me so long to get around to too, but yeah, very good!

Coming home from my new, decently paying job and seeing the OT 0 previews is really getting me to consider that £200 limited edition price tag… I probably won’t and will just get standard, but I’ve not ordered yet so we’ll see…

First day at new job done, and let me tell you, I forgot how steep the hill is that I have to walk up for it. The job is fine though.

And I’m done at the bakery! A good place to work, I’m going to miss the comfort of knowing what to do. Onto bigger and better things, with a gift £50 from my former coworkers, which is was a kind, unexpected gift.

I’ve been playing date everything as a fun, summer evening guilty pleasure game. Having finally reached an ending, I truly wish I could recommend it, because when it works, it’s lots of fun, but it is also so buggy and broken that it I literally cannot finish it. So… Update soon, hopefully?

Playing 999 again, even knowing the various endings, still sends an absolute shiver of terror down my spine. I’ve not even gotten to my favourite ending yet, the one before the true ending that solidified this game as an all time great for me, but ooh, I can tell it’s going to be just as good on DS.

Working through some maths prep work for my final physics modules this year, and I swear to god, so much of maths (for higher levels of physics specifically) is just making relatively simple concepts look absolutely terrifying.

Calling today my last day of summer so that I properly start on my study prep tomorrow. Final year of study and starting a new job have hit me and I’m scared shitless, but I can make it work. For today though, I’m going to try to complete one more cross stitching chart.

Found a DS copy of 999 on eBay for about half the price its regularly selling for. The pictures made it look a bit run down, but I thought it would be alright with a clean. It’s arrived today and it’s in near perfect condition. I’m made up. I cannot wait to play it in its original format!

Had to order a new motor and hands for my wall clock yesterday. Since it came in a pack of two I am now far too seriously considering cross stitching a clock face…

I miss the brainlessness of stitching the same colour for hundreds of stitches, so it’s time to start the LttP dark world map alongside the Ogre Eagle! I’m starting from the bottom right corner, so I stitch exactly backwards from how I stitched the light world map, I thought it might be cool.

Chart update time! The Venomtooth tiger is complete and an absolute nightmare because of DMC's restrictive pale grey and purples palette, but I'm happy with the result. Galdera, on the other hand, looks amazing but is causing headaches with how much I squint at him. Still, slow progress is progress!

Okay, I’ve slept on it, Octopath 0 being a gacha-less port of CotC is exactly what I want. I couldn’t get into CotC because of the gacha, but I know it’s got some great lore, battles and music. So yeah, I’m all in! Still not sure if I can swing the collectors edition though… I’ll wait on it.
