Ema Skye is my favourite AA character, specifically because her appearance in the AJ trilogy. And, you know, objectively hilarious that I too am now a jaded, frustrated professional in my mid twenties, working in science. Probably the only fictional character I like that I’d genuinely get on with.

When I first played AA:AJ back in 2012, I was 13 and thought, wow, 2026 is a long way off, I wonder what I’ll be doing when I inevitably replay it then? I promise I never would have guessed working at the same damn school.

Scored 91% on my most recent, most weighty uni assignment of the year! So I’m starting my next Octopath boss to celebrate!!

Fun side project I started after reorganising the floss last week. I’ve always wanted a swatch for each colour of DMC to make charting easier. It’ll probably take several years to create a full set, but they each only take 30 minutes, so they’re quick, mindless fun on their own! #CrossStitch

Singing while I washed up this morning. Arthur was *not* a fan.

Octopath 0 is so incredibly frustrating. When if hits, it really really hits - I’ve loved the second chapters of both Bestower of Wealth and Fame, but when it misses, it doesn’t exactly miss but just kinda feels like nothing - Bestower of Power.

Went out to buy more floss this afternoon, and not only did I get a good price, but the person working the till liked my venipede patch on my fleece!

A couple of months ago, we inherited a box of old DMC after a friend of my mum’s passed. Join that with my two boxes and my mum’s unsorted three boxes, and it’s once again time to organise these bastards. Two hours to get to this point, at least two more I reckon.

Now that I’ve unlocked all ‘playable’ apothecaries in OT0, I can officially lament the fact that they’re all goody-goodies. Don’t get me wrong, I love Alfyn and feel nothing for Macy and Esperre - as is true for most of the new travelers not related to wishvale.

I’ll admit it’s been a while since I last played OT0, but even with my copious notes (because I knew it would be a while between sessions), I still don’t think I’d have been able to keep track of all the priests even if I had played straight through.

Went outside with the family today, did a silly little Easter egg hunt. Saw a bird of paradise flower in person for the first time, went through a tunnel with lots of sleepy bats. And, most importantly, this poster of a bee that just says Oomph. 10/10 outside experience.

I’ve had a rough week with another inspection at work, a minor but substantial health scare and a uni report to write tomorrow. But! I have also submitted my writing to a competition and finally, FINALLY beaten Jevil. Take that, you bastard.

Sometimes I see all this news about the future of video game graphics and think about the fact that some of the most emotionally powerful moments I've experienced in the medium were just 2D character portraits making a unique expression I hadn't seen up to that point.
