I wasn't aware of this until very recently but godot 4.5 is adding deterministic UIDs??? UID conflicts between different machines was such an annoying aspect of godot development on a team and having this fixed is a huge pain point gone github.com/godotengine/... #godot #gamedev

recently finished psychonauts 2 and then immediately went and watched all of psychodyssey (highly recommend) through all the ups and downs of it, it's genuinely nice to have a reminder that parts of the industry still value people and creativity and that isn't entirely left to smaller indie studios

it's very nice to see how quickly godot is getting massive new features. it's seeming like 4.4 is going to be around a 6 month dev time in total, which is huge if that release cadence keeps up with the amount of stuff each new update brings. i beg for gdscript traits and namespaces tho pls pls pls
