I wanted to see Horned Larks. There's a reliable spot abt 40 mins North. But it's "roadside viewing only" and that made me nervous to pull over on the side of a country road, that also might still have snow piles. Got there & my camera battery was dead!! No good pics of adorable #birds. 😭

These guys were traumatized by airduct people coming into the house on Friday. They are finally coming back around, but still velcro.

Took off work tomorrow, and have been asking Dave all night if we can birdwatch tomorrow. Basically, I want him to be my driver so I can scout birds on the drive to the location. And then bird at the location(s). He keeps saying Yes. I love him. ❤️

very interested to hear the justification from evangelicals about why they hate this performance which appeared to me to be full of mainstream traditional values like marriage, family units, blue collar work, then literally ended with the performer saying “god bless America” in English

I wondered about this. And if the other couple really got engaged (or if they were just dancers/actors.)

Well, I'm an idiot who didn't read all the emails from the Orioles in December. Just now figuring out that Opening Day is not included with 40G plan. So, I'll be looking for tickets on resell market or O's site closer to the date.

Why does my #eBirdRecounted2025 make me a little weepy? Maybe because I met my personal goal of birding more in 2025, to Be A Better Birder? To be able to enjoy my personal birdwalks more, because I could ID more birds by sight and sound. I spent 444.5 hrs ebirding and walked 283.6 miles!

Dave had never seen The Birdcage, so we watched that tonight. Still made me laugh, but hit a little harder on rewatch. Will forever be sad we didn't have Robin Williams longer. 💔 and Gene Hackman is gone now too.

Television programming used to go off around midnight. Didn't start again until morning. TV test pattern screen would display and the TV would hum.

Won a barrister bookcase auction. Picking it up tomorrow! I'm BEYOND thrilled, as I've been casually looking for over a year. This one doesn't have a base, but I'm sure I can find something to work with or pay someone to make me one. Or just do without. Suggestions welcome!

Got yahtzee on my first roll at the start of G1 and G2. Still lost game 1.

Finally got to see the House of Melo exhibit at the Pratt and it is so cool!

Gave a small gift to our UPS driver (because he is honestly the best and I've seen him talk to our cats through the window) and he gave me the best hug and told me I smelled nice. Day officially made!! ❤️

Love that @opacybikevalet.bsky.social yelled Hello to @daveygandthe.bsky.social and me as he rode by us with a bunch of other people on bikes. We were walking on the JFT, and were looking at the water (for ducks!) at the time he rode by.

Not a cackling! Maybe next year! The ebird police got us! Haha. But I'm happy for the correction with notes: Just a bit too long-billed and long necked for - Cackling, plus the shape of the white "bridle" on the face is more Canada than Cackling. I'll keep looking!
