Only just learning about the passing of Gabe Serbian, drummer of The Locust. One of the tightest, most impressive musicians the noise/grind scene has ever seen. These guys were life-changing when I first discovered them - The drumming in particular. RIP

Started Hardcore Hell and am nearing Act II at level 78. Going for that 99 HC trophy! Truly a game that keeps on giving. Learning so much. Loot drops actually mean something in this game, and farming efficiently requires genuine game knowledge. Diablo II is still best in class.

I've only dabbled in Caves on Qud on PC but decided to double dip for Switch. Such a wonderful, whimsical experience. I just adore the writing in it.

Bit the bullet and double-dipped on Diablo 2 with the new update. Warlock is really interesting so far! Always been a 'lock in WoW so I am THRILLED about this! As usual, hardcore. Trying a melee Eldritch build. I have no idea what's good, but trying to play blind :)

Returnal is one of the best run-based games I've *ever* played. Minimal meta-progression so success relied on player knowledge/skill growth. I'm a bit sad to see Saros emphasize meta-progression so heavily. It feels like a concession to the casual majority. Every goddamn game has ~progression~ now

Got a bit cocky after reaching Torment IV on hardcore. This was my first time really pushing endgame. While everyone was busy with the new Paladin, my Blood Wave Necro was tearing up The Pit. Was coasting on the class leaderboards for the first time too. RIP. Hardcore deaths always hurt.

Made it to Torment 1 on hardcore. First time Sorcerer (though I loved the class in D2!)

I'm only just now recovering from 3 weeks of being sick. I think I caught a second bug right after recovering from the first one, it fucking sucked. Haven't done any PHD work in that time, haven't exercised, haven't done art. Just sat on my ass feeling miserable. Finally feeling like a human again

Final team that beat Pokemon Lazarus hard mode. Genuinely the best Pokemon game I've ever played. What a blast! Corsola and Dragonite did a tonne of heavy lifting together 🩷

I'm not sure what happened but Diablo IV is fantastic now. I spent all day playing and it feels like my eyes are bleeding 🙂

Dragon Quest VII reviews look like it's another sanded down, streamlined modern game. I'm so...tired of games losing their soul to appeal to the widest possible audience. Trimming core mechanics and asking players to just turn off their brain and follow the shiny thing. I think I'll skip it.

Ended up finishing Monster Hunter Wilds despite my issues with it. Hunting Horn changes really carried an otherwise mediocre MH game. Think I'm tapping out of the RNG postgame grind and going back to cycling between MH World and MH Rise.

I saw brief glimpses of the X-Files as a little kid and it gave me nightmares. 30 years later and I'm finally watching it for the first time and... Damn, this shit is GOOD. I'm obsessed.

I've been having a great time with romhacks and fan translations this year, so I decided to upgrade to a Miyoo Mini Plus. It's better than I imagined! Looks great, lets you swap between games/save states instantly, and can even run PS1 games flawlessly! Can't wait to start Pokemon Unbound.
