I really bothers me that people in the semi-rural area I live in are suddenly putting gates up across their driveways. To me it speaks to growing anxiety and paranoia given the only sure result is going to be inconvenience to themselves.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death. Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written." Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating. 🧪🧬🧫

On weeks like this I sorta wish I could have a ‘trending’ list without sports. I don’t begrudge the sports people their entertainment, I’m just not interested. But I guess it’s culturally important and I should at least passively participate.
