First book of today was Tracks on the Ocean - in a shocking display of inefficiency, it's not on the website, but we'll get it added so that you too can join in the maritime fun!

Having a rare Wednesday where I get to play in the shop, while Michael ties the ribbons out the back. I sold today's first book, too! It was 1979 by

Liverpool are exceptionally good, and Spurs are exceptionally tired, battered, and disjointed. 4-0 feels entirely just, but no less disappointing

My novel Thomas True is about minorities finding strength but also turning on each other in the face of terror enacted by a self-appointed moral vigilante force supported by the State. It happened in the 1700s. It's always happened. Read history to understand the present and protect the future. 🦚🇺🇲

Fantastic performance from Spurs. Absolutely knackered after 30 minutes, but never let the concentration drop. Defended robustly, passed sensibly out from the back, and took their rare chances. Djed Spence incredibly good Ange does adapt. He does change. He is slowly figuring this out.

I want to commend Trudeau for stating that it’s important that “no one part of the country should carry a heavier burden than any other. We’re all in this together and we will get through this together.” That’s the Canadian way. We don’t abandon one another. We come together.

4. Read whatever you want in 2025. Read as little or as much as you like. Read on a kindle. Read second hand. Read from a library. Borrow books. Steal books (not from independent bookstores). Read banned books. Read audio books. Read books nobody else is talking about. Just read. Over and out.

Right gang, this is how it works. I read 133 books this year & every single one is in the running as this is "the best books I've read this year". There are so many amazing choices, I'm first going to post my "highly commended" books, then my top 6. Are we ready???

Friday 13th is unlucky. But buying books is lucky. So cancel out the former, do the latter, then get yourself off home and somewhere cosy to read.

I don't want to alarm anyone, but it's TWO weeks to Christmas Eve. That means you realistically have about 8 days to place your Christmas orders to guarantee we'll be able to dispatch in time for them to arrive.

Spurs throwing away a good lead with wildly reckless mistakes - so frustrating that people will blame Ange for this, but you can’t legislate for players pulling the pin on a grenade and then stuffing it down their own shorts
