In the BC-led CLiCK trial, researchers found a new catheter locking solution significantly reduced the number of infections and complications. Huge congratulations to Dr. Conklin and her team! Their work looks beyond the traditional framework of diet, exercise, and medication, instead exploring how the gains, loss, and absence of social relationships impacts #diabetes risk and disease progression.

#Pharmacies are increasingly becoming an a vital way that Canadians receive essential clinical services, like medication renewal, vaccination, and assessment of minor ailments. 💊 But more rural communities have much less access to pharmacies— making it harder for residents to use these services.

#VirtualCare can make health care much more accessible, especially for people living in rural areas. However, there are risks when it's over-relied upon. For example, patients living with #KidneyDisease in Northern BC were less supported in learning to use their medical tech through remote care.

🏫 While 79% of surveyed Canadian #UniversityStudents had a perceived need for #MentalHealth treatment, only 40% tried to access those services. These disparities were related to age, international background, and financial stress.
