In fairness, Atlanta TSA sort of looked like this before. I had TSA Pre and a friend I was traveling with did not. I breezed through, went to the bar by our gate, and was three sheets to the wind by the time he got through security. But that was maybe 2-3 hours.

Is this horrible? Yes. Was it fairly predictable as of, say, Thursday, absent insider knowledge, that the attack was coming over the weekend? Also yes. I am just not enough of a ghoul to have thought to place a bet on it.

College freshman today were 6 years old in the 2012 election. A student of mine (age 20) told me after class that he appreciates when I explain how US politics and media were different before, because the Trump era is all he’s seen. This is what young Americans think politics is. It’s normal now.
