Labor promised that Australia would and should have its own Centre for Disease Control (CDC) because of Covid pandemic. Given that the CDC in US is probably going to be decimated by its new projected leader it’s past time Australia looked after itself.

Returned from a delightful time in Ireland. People are friendly,scenery sublime and enjoying the sea food. The most disappointing part was the car hire exorbitant cost and really poor service. Next time I will use public transport which is excellent.

Now that Labor has had a decisive election win it is imperative that we get an Australian Human Rights Act. Human rights are under attack in many more countries than ever before and even more so in US. An Australian Human Rights Act will give greater protection of all our rights.

The World is waking up and rejecting the agenda of the Right. It has started in France and here Australia and now Romania rejects the extreme right. Hope Poland continues to reject the Right. The US will eventually reject Trumpism.

A significant contributing factor, in my view, to Leader of the Greens Bandt loss was hubris of Faruqi and Chandler Mather.Senator Faruqi asserting that Labor Gov was “complicit in Israel’s genocide” was appalling . Chandler-Mather presented as self righteous and immature and rude.

The Greens really have to do soul searching. In my view their tendency to be holier than thou is really grating. Voters I suspect do not like being patronised or being preached to my poorly informed Green MPs.
