I’ve already gotten used to hearing the 3D printer I wondered why my workshop was so quiet lol

Today I am extra thankful for all the wonderful friends in my life. I wouldn’t be here today if I didn’t have you ✨❤️✨

Managed to get a pc computer set up so I can actually print whatever I want. Friends were kind enough to give me an old PC tower, I had a free keyboard from microcenter. I just had to buy a monitor and a mouse. This is my temp set up until I get the funds to get a better work bench for the printer.

Need to start sculpting so I can use up the 50lbs of WED clay I bought lol tired of tripping over the big box.

I am sorry I will stop talking about my 3D printer*. Now that it’s the holiday weekend I can clean my workshop and work on velocity’s collar. * I will only stop for the rest of today, all bets off tomorrow.

I love how I can be out at the store and I can check in my child. 🥹

I kept thinking how I wanted to add more mech, and bio mechanical stuff to Velocity but I couldn’t figure out how to do it…well now with the 3D printer I feel like a kid again lol it’s like when I went to a hobby store and saw allllll the prisma color markers. Oh the possibilities we will create

Printer saga-Finally took the printer out of the box, went to set it up- no filament. The stuff I ordered isn’t due to arrive for another week. Ended up ordering some on the devils website. It shows up this morning, cool. Go to set it up again, cord is too short has to move to another spot. Okay-

Trust me I am so thankful my drive is back full force buuuuut, I wish I didn’t have to stop to eat lol

My new printer arrives today!! I am not ready in the least lol I honestly thought it would ship from CA and take a week to get to me…not like 2 days. I thought I had time lmao. Ah well! I am still super exciteddddd

Big brain energy when I realized I could just bake pancakes in the oven instead of a pan. I meal prep protein pancakes for the week and this shaved off an hour of my time. Yassss

Velocity side quest: his collar. I found a cool STL file on Etsy that allows all sorts of customizing and asked my pal @nazfx.com if they print it for me. Then @paintyourdragon.bsky.social sent me some cool switches, buttons and other glowing things. So thank you friends for enabling me haha 💜

When I am coming up with ideas for a project I like to Google just random crap until something cool pops up. I’ve gone down so many rabbit holes this way. Only time it ever doesn’t work in my favor is when I find something but I gotta order a minimum of 500 lol

Had a busy week with work so progress on Velocity has been slow. Still, I’ve managed to make some decent progress on him. I’ve lost count how many pieces and spots he’s up to now haha. But he’s getting there!

The moment I think I’ve started to get the main part of velocity’s body complete, I turn around to reveal another 20 pieces I need to trace and cut. They’re right, beauty is pain 😔

I am allergic to burlap fabric so I am trying to find an alternative for reinforcing plaster. I know hemp fibers will work but I am trying to find the right stuff. I guess it’s sisal? Unsure if there’s a right or wrong with this stuff. Worst case I’ll get burlap I suppose.

I don’t think the Aurora is gonna hit our skies again tonight, but course it’s clear lol took a shot anyway and frankly I am impressed my iPhone could capture the stars??
