I've just hit 90,000 words so I definitely have a novel on my hands. I am now switching from daily-word-count goals to just-getting-the-rest-of-the-story-done-in-a-timely-manner-without-rushing goal. You know, the old JGTROTSDIATMWR goal. (My writing guidebook coming soon 😂) 💙📚

Crazy 2 days. Sunday, my pomsky Roo had weepy eyes, and we called the vets. Monday morn his eyes were cloudy white and he was almost completely blind. Vets had no idea what happened. Opthalmologist still had no idea but now we're treating them. His eyes have cleared up and his sight is coming back.

Just hit 60k and roughly the halfway point of my book, so hopefully on track for my total target of 120k! 💙📚

Smashed through 50k and on my way to 60. Just trying to maintain pace at the moment. Trying to limit the research rabbit holes I go down. But did you know the UKs smallest living mammal is the Pygmy Shrew, at a weight of just 4g. This has absolutely nothing to do with my book. 💙📚

I just spent half an hour obsessing over a 5-word chapter title like I don’t have a remaining 60k to rewrite/edit in less than a month. Worst part is, I’m still not sure about those 5 words. 💙📚

There’s been a direct correlation with me doing a Bluesky post and hitting my 2.5k daily word count, and not posting and not hitting it. So this is my post. Don’t have anything particularly to say. But here it is. Thank you for your time. 💙📚

Reviewing my agents notes on draft 2 vs. mine. Hers are really constructive (‘this character needs motivation’ ‘we need to tighten up the rules’ ‘I’m not sure this bit is working’) Mine are ‘add sauna’ ‘hotel should have sauna’ even when I get on to something else I circle back to the sauna 🤣 💙📚

Day 2 of 2.5k days. I hit it yesterday, so I just have to do the same again! I did three batches of 800 words, and then a lesiurely 100+ in the evening to wind down.

Im in the recovery unit. Vocal cord injection was a success. Left cord is now a beefy boy!

Today’s the day! Having an operation to inject my vocal cord with silicone to make it stronger. Last time I had a temporary dose and it worked amazingly. This is more permanent stuff!

Bit of an uneven season in terms of structure (although it’s probably fine for people coming to it now and able to binge it), but Severance ended STRONG. No idea what’s coming next, but I’m here for it!!

Just finished Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. What a book! Hardcore sci-fi charting the evolution of an entire species on a terraformed planet. Never read anything quite like it!

The 2 games I’ve finished in 2025 so far are: -Psychonauts 2 -Citizen Sleeper Both massively recommended!

The 4 books I read in Jan were: -The Troop by Nick Cutter -I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison -Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica -The Courage To Be Disliked by Fumitake Koga and Ichiro Kishimi Pretty heavy horror start to the year followed by some self-reflection!

2025 is the year of the backlog for me, and I’ve already read some amazing books and played two amazing games. I’m gonna try and catalogue them here going forward!

My The Traitors application for Series 4 has been started. Let’s get a crime writer in the mix.
