I've just treated myself to a canvas print and a mousepad with these two photos of Iron. I've been a bit irresponsible with money lately but the print shop had a sale and I wanted something to keep him present.

Today has so far been a day of curling up under the duvet, hugging a pillow. Nothing particular has happened to warrant this, just tiredness and *waves at the world in general *.

Spent all day today at my parents' place, setting up a new wifi system and mum's new laptop, cleaning a couple of windows and carrying things down to my dad's new studio room. It was a really satisfying day. 🥰

Found this cute and very soft little dragon plushie today and she was only £1.50 so I couldn't resist. She looked completely clean but I still washed her just to be sure, and now she's drip drying over my bathroom sink. 😊

The could-I-get-this-thing-to-work tech nerd in me is so, so tempted to buy an A3 format multi function printer I spotted at the thrift store today for about £30. I already have an A3 printer that I use for printing large TTRPG maps so I do not exactly *need* this other one, but I do like the idea

Client: I have a meeting with the bank in one hour. Could you send me a draft of X financial statement document? I still don't have document Y, though. Me, knowing that I've told him multiple times that I can't finish statement X until he provides me with document Y: ... ... ... *headdesk*

My car passed the re-check for the annual safety inspection and is now legal to drive for another year. 😊

Well, guess which genius just ruined a huge batch of salad by adding a bunch of sunflower seeds without checking the date first? Turns out they had gone bad and taste awful, so now the entire bowl of salad is pretty much inedible. I am so mad at myself. 🤬

Very important news: I now have a guardian squirrel keeping watch at my front door. He has been instructed to throw nuts at all uninvited visitors! 😛😁

I have my car back, and it turned out the back brake discs and pads didn't need to be replaced yet (tech said they'd be good for "at least another year", which probably means two for me since I'm a soft braker) so it "only" ended up being 13 400 kr (£1060 / US$ 1420). Still a lot, but less. =D

So, um... starting to tear out your kitchen floor is a totally reasonable thing to be doing at half past midnight, right? 😅

I've started volunteering at a local thrift store once a week, and worked my second shift this afternoon. I'm working in the intake area, where we unpack and sort things that have been donated, and so far I'm loving it!

Got unlucky in that all my car's brakes, front and back, need replacing all at once, combined with the annual service and also a parking brake issue. This is going to get expensive. 😬

I'll try to take better 'after' photos tomorrow as it got rather dark before I stopped for the night, but I managed to make a fair bit of progress in the disaster that is the slope of my back garden today.

I've been having some bad luck with computers lately, but I have to say I'm really impressed with HP's customer service. While I'd definitely prefer that things actually work as intended out of the box (which it normally does with HP for me), knowing there's really good support available is gold.

Still don't know what I'm going to use these braids/cords for, but the process of making them is enjoyable and kind of meditative.

Note to self: do not take naps after a heavy meal, because you *will* have nightmares. This time it was two huge lava fountains suddenly appearing in the mountain range I live next to (which is 100% non-volcanic) and lava starting to well up from the street drains and manholes in my neighbourhood.

I got a bit anxious yesterday when I couldn't get my Rollermouse pro2 to work with my new computer, in spite of it being a plug&play device that works with every other machine I tested it with. Thankfully a wonderful HP support agent managed to find the problem after a while, and now it works!

The dragon was curled up on its hoard. A knight approached, unarmed and unhelmed. "Greetings! I have a question about your hoard." "If you try to steal it I will kill you." "May I move it? With you still on it?" The tiny dragon firmly gripped the golden tiara it laid on. "Carry it with pride."

A couple of apps remain to reinstall, but otherwise I have now successfully migrated to the new computer. Got BG3 running with all save files accessible, and also managed to find the right folders to copy for my VTT software to find all my custom stuff. Now I just have to do some cable management.

Me: Next time I switch computers I'm going to sort and arrange all my ramdom files so everything is neat and tidy. Me, now, switching computers: copy + paste everything as is. 😅

Digging through an external drive I found a bunch of photos from my brother's graduation, and seeing the ones with him, me, our parents and my paternal grandparents hit me unexpectedly hard. I'm so fucking tired of feeling loss.

I'm learning how to use a lucet. It's quite fun and relaxing.

My car failed its annual check-up for the first time (hand brake issues), and it's also time to change the front brakes. Now for the joyful task of trying to find a good mechanic. 😬

In spite of sleeping pretty late I have managed to get a parcel sent off, water all my plants and mow my lawn, which was very overgrown. I'm very glad I got the lawn done even though it was still fairly wet, because we're going to get a lot of rain tomorrow which would have made it worse.

This is so me.
