I enjoyed the snow so much, and hope it won't be another three years before we see some more.

Yeah, yeah, it's really pretty up there, sure. But this mouse isn't going to dig itself out.

There were a few fen skaters out at Upware this morning, making the most of the brief cold snap. I wasn't allowed to join them because I was getting a bit overexcited, but did try my paws on the ice in the next meadow.

Now listen to me, young Bliss, and don't lie too close to the stove. Or you might end up with my colouring.

Burned-out pickup truck on a drove near Aldreth. We wonder if it might have been stolen and torched by hare coursers.

Proper fenland peat. For thousands of years these fields were at the bottom of a marsh. Now they're some of England's most fertile farmland.

On a rainy day, I recommend heading to your local bookshop and charming the staff into giving you treats. Or on any day, in fact.

If I've GOT to wait while the strawberry bed is being weeded, I may as well dig myself a bed in the compost heap.

As autumn draws on, the morning patch of sunlight in the courtyard gets smaller and shorter-lived every day. I'm making the most of it before it disappears altogether.

I would happily join any such group - if you would too then get in touch with Marie. The madness being proposed by Tories and Reform needs to be opposed, and migrants' rights need to be protected.

NAE KINGS, NAE MASTERS! You want to keep your liberty? Guard it like a favorite stick. You let one fool call himself ‘Master of Treats,’ and next thing you know, he’s telling you when to sit and when to beg. Democracy’s a chew toy. If you don’t protect it, someone else will drool all over it.

Exploring a section of the Icknield Way, an ancient route across England that some say may be the oldest road in Britain. It certainly predates the grey squirrels I barked at.

Cuddly Milo came up from London to visit, and we went for a long Fenland walk and pub lunch with him and his humans. After which we both needed a good lie down for a while.

Today on our walk we met Miss Freckles, a lovely gentle retired racing greyhound whose owner likes to dress her up. Today, he said, she's a Battle of Britain pilot. She doesn't seem to mind at all. I barked at the flag, though.

Someone keeps painting swastikas on an old barn door just up the road. When the owner paints over them, they reappear almost straight away. My human just spent a while scrubbing off the latest one with wire wool at the end of our evening walk.
