I feel very strongly that we must use the next three years to build a new opposition movement. I tried to lay out my reasons and what I think we need to do to make it happen. Please watch, comment, and share.

To Donald Trump: Stop using military troops and ICE to invade and disrupt American cities. Stop calling your political opponents โenemiesโ of the US. Stop attacking the 1st Amendment. Our troops and our nation deserve better than you acting as a petty tyrant.

CEO pay is up 1,094% since 1978, while worker pay is up just 26%. Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

I have repeatedly seen commentators trotting out 60's and 70's left wing political violence as if it is a good comparison to our current moment. My understanding is most of that was directed at property not people. Only a certain class of person would conflate the two...

Maybe it isn't important to win people back with a carrot but show the rest of us that they aren't wrong for continuing to believe in objective truth. The MAGA movement is built upon multiple layers of load-bearing lies shored up by an aggregate of lies so dense light cannot pass through it.

It's not that I don't agree but if we have learned anything from the last decade its that consistent messaging only works AFTER you find something viral. Trump thrives on using social media to find a catchy narrative then stealing it which creates a horde of people scrambling for his attention.

This moment in America is bonkers. A bunch of people with low confidence in government voted for a 6 moron assuming he would have a plan and govern well but he's winging it. Contrary to their expressed opinion it feels like we have been spoiled by good governance for decades.

I have seen a lot of arguments about the inevitability of cuts to social services across multiple governments, usually tied to the fertility "crisis". I understand that confiscating rich people's wealth may only provide a temporary reprieve, however, that won't realistically matter.

It's wild to watch people who thought antifa was an existential threat to America pop back into existence after years of silence. All the gravy seals protecting their wee rural hamlet from shadowy anti fascist commies that never showed up must be back out pacing in front of the local Dairy Queen.

Weโre seeing that corporate titans donโt care about authoritarianism. Look at the Big Tech overlords flocking to the White House. Conservatives use to celebrate the supposed link between capitalism and democracy. Not any more.

So if they dig deeper and discover Chomsky books under his mattress and Zizek videos in his YouTube history is the civil war back on? This knee-jerk political theater from the adults in charge is why this moment feels so chaotic, its why COVID felt so scary, these people aren't competent.
