Had a few people over today for a BBQ for the first time in…forever. We had a great time but man, I am exhausted.

Tomorrow is Monday already and you guys, I can’t even.

Oh man. Between work and home life and not being able to sleep this week, I am ready to just hide from everything and everyone. I am DONE.

Having the kind of day where if I won the lottery I would quit my job on the spot and not look back. And probably light my laptop on fire for good measure.

I woke up this morning just feeling “off” for some reason. It’ll be impressive if I make it through the day.

Thanks for the Sun, Mother Nature, but is this wind REALLY necessary? 😒

A bunch of work things are happening right now that REALLY make me wish rage quitting was an option.

Enjoying my first Friday afternoon off at the park with my book. This was a good idea.

Just got approved to tweak my work schedule to allow Friday afternoons off. One small step for my manager, one giant leap for my mental health.

Back to work today after a glorious 2-week vacation. My husband asked me if I was feeling ready to go back. And I told him that if a giant bag of money fell into my lap right now I wouldn’t even log in to say goodbye. He said, “You wouldn’t do that. You like your team too much.” 😉

Vacation starts tomorrow. I did a little pre-gaming this morning by having cookies for breakfast.

Missing my mom extra today, triggered by a convo with my sister about how mum was a great person to complain to when you needed someone to unquestionably agree that yes, you are absolutely right and whoever or whatever did you wrong was TERRIBLE. She was always on our side no matter what.

I REALLY wish that taking the day off because I’m in too foul a mood to deal with life, much less work, was a thing.

8:30 Sunday morning and there are people loudly shredding trees across the street at the neighbour’s house. I hate them.

My lovely husband cleared the kitchen and is now going out to get me coffee. So I guess things could be worse. 😂

I just completely threw my back out while I was cleaning out the fridge. My husband had to help me off the kitchen floor. I’m screwed.

I mean…no one I can very professionally discuss my work concerns with. Professionally. 😏

Ugh. Pretty much everyone I work with is either offsite or not working today and I have no one to bitch to. 😫

Not me googling how to professionally say “That’s not my problem” first thing on Tuesday morning…😐

Today was a royally stupid day. Had to deal with one of our most difficult bosses, and then, in a totally unrelated matter, I got handed a flaming bag of do-do 20 minutes before quitting time. I hate today.

8:30 am meetings should be banned. I said what I said.

I swear, my close work colleagues are pretty much the only thing getting me through every day.

I have been waking up with this one single thought every day.

The level of mental and emotional exhaustion I’m feeling right now I haven’t experienced in a very long time.

Welp, I just wrote to my city councillor for the first time ever. Not sure that it’s going to do anything, but it feels better to do SOMETHING.

I feel like I can’t handle one more piece of bad news - the world, my province, and my city are all going to hell. It’s getting harder and harder to hang on to any shred of optimism or hope.

Hooboy. There’s not enough coffee in the world to deal with the level of cranky I’m experiencing today.

Insomnia is the dumbest thing ever invented.

Stepped outside at 5:50 pm and it wasn’t pitch-black. There was also something about the light that said “spring is on the way.”

The amount of time in my day that’s just spent composing emails is astonishing. Honestly some days it feels like that’s all I do.

Late night last night means this morning I’m headache-y and grouchy and NOT in the mood for BS. Pray for my coworkers. 🤣

It doesn’t matter how many times I speak in meetings with ALLLLL the big bosses, I always walk away feeling like a dumbass. 🤨

Happy to report that it was just indeed too much coffee. 😬😬😬

Playing the game this afternoon of “Is this nausea because I’m coming down with something, or did I just drink too much coffee this morning?” A tale as old as time.

Onsite operations are shut down but us WFH folks are just carrying on as usual. It’s fine, I get it, but to make today feel a little like a treat for me I’m working from my bed this morning. AND I’m having a cookie for breakfast.

My motivation levels are at an all-time low today. I really just want to lay in bed with a book and some snacks and forget everything else.

Made it through my first week back after the holidays. Whew.
