My first Christmas without my mum hurts a lot more than I thought it would. 💔

Wrapping Christmas gifts and I have to say I’m feeling pretty good about the amount of local businesses we were able to support this year. ❤️

I’m officially off until January 5th and I could weep with relief.

Dove full in on an email this morning and totally confused myself (and likely the recipient). Yeesh. That’s what I get for answering emails pre-coffee.

I miss the 90s when you read or heard news without being bombarded with the thoughts and opinions of hundreds of people that you don’t give a crap about. I’d like to just be able to sit with news and information and form my own thoughts and feelings, thanks.

Two days is never enough weekend.

I just spent an hour composing an email and I think after all the foolishness today has brought at work I deserve a nap.

I have a massage booked for the end of the day and that’s honestly all I can think about. I can’t wait to be pummelled.

My inbox is currently an absolute mess. There’s too much going on and too many emails flying around. Almost responded to an email that was dealt with yesterday. 😒

Went for a lunchtime rage walk and came back to TEN new emails. 😒

Not even 10:30 and I’ve fantasized about rage-quitting three times already. Will I survive the next three weeks?

Busted out the electric blanket for working at my desk.

Welp. Logged in this morning after being off work for almost two weeks…287 email messages. Guess I’d better get to it. 😅

Back to work tomorrow after almost 2 full weeks off. I was supposed to go back today but needed another day of recovery from 10 days with my husband’s family. Honestly I could probably use another few days. 😬

We leave tomorrow for vacation and holy shit I still have A LOT to do. 😬

I am going to lay in bed for a *Very Long Time tomorrow. *Probably 8:30, tops.

I have chronic pain - mostly neck & upper back (though it crops up elsewhere occasionally). I realized at a recent massage that at least part of it is likely because my body is almost never relaxed. I’m always tensing & engaging muscles no matter what, like I’m constantly poised for action.

I enjoy many things about my job. But one of the things I absolutely hate is having to massage certain people’s egos. I really just want to tell them to grow the hell up.

Today’s after work rage walk was made slightly better by swishing my way through every pile of leaves I encountered.

One of our biggest of the Big Bosses is an absolute nightmare. There’s only so much I can do to protect my team from the madness; unfortunately a lot of the time we’re stuck smiling and nodding and then complaining to one another.

Stupid me, I thought the time change was going to make it easier to get up this morning. 🙄

I’m already mad about how early it’s going to get dark. 😒

My long weekend was great - a mix of relaxation, time spent with my kid and my husband, and a few chores to boot. …still not ready to go back to work tomorrow, though. 😬

I’m not a baseball fan but it makes me happy to see so many people getting so much joy from it. We need all the joy we can get these days.

I’ve booked Friday off because holy cow I need it, but now the game begins: Will my workload actually allow me to take the day off? 🤨

I am terrible at work email pleasantries.“Good morning work colleague, I hope you had a nice evening and you’re staying dry in this wet weather! I have a small request that I’m hoping you can help with…” Me: “Good morning work colleague, can you look into this thing for me and let me know? Thanks!”

It’s only Monday and already this week is kicking my ass. This does not bode well.

Which is more professional for a workplace email? “Suck it”, or “Get bent”? Asking for…reasons. 🤨

Trying to maintain good self care on top of ALL THE OTHER THINGS is kind of bullshit. Why does it just feel like more things on my to-do list?

Working on a Sunday afternoon so I’m not totally screwed tomorrow. I’m tired and grumpy about it.

Tell me about a micro-joy in your life lately. For me it’s the last of the wild roses hanging on. Every time I pass a bush in our neighbourhood I stop and take a BIG sniff.

It’s Thursday morning of a short week and I’m already done. I just want to lay in bed, snuggle my kitty and drink coffee. Is that really too much to ask??

I’m having carrot cake for breakfast and if anyone has a problem with that, I WILL fight them.

I could really go for another day or ten off, please.

I’m not really much of a drinker but after the week I’ve had, this bottle of white is going down SMOOOOOTH.

A busy weekend when all I need is to be able to lay on the couch and eat chips. I’m putting all my hope into Monday being that day. 🤞🤞🤞

APPARENTLY standing at the fridge eating leftover coleslaw out of the container *isn’t* lunch. 🙄

We said goodbye to our boy this afternoon, who was both the world’s biggest asshole and the best boy in the world. 💔

I’ve been hand-feeding our boy tube treats several times a day because that’s all he will eat at this point. We’re just feeling grateful for every extra day we get with him.

Vet confirmed today that our kitty has gastric lymphoma. We’re officially in palliative care mode and our hearts are absolutely breaking. We don’t think he’ll be with us much longer. 💔

You know the disaster movie where there’s one scientist who has been sounding the alarm but gets ignored by everyone until it’s too late?? 🤨

Oh look - the problem I flagged months ago is still a problem. Who knew?? Oh wait. Me. *I* knew. 😒

Not even 8:30 and work stupidity is making me feel like I want to just snap my laptop shut and walk away.
