On 11 November 1954: The Two Towers is published! Being the second part of J.R.R. #Tolkien's epic The Lord of the Rings, it is a volume of two halves. The first follows Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli to Fangorn and Rohan; and after the Battle of the Hornburg, ends with Gandalf taking Pippin to Gondor.

On 9 November 1967: Smith of Wootton Major was first published. A short story by J.R.R. #Tolkien set entirely outside of Middle-earth, the tale is about a cake and a feast, the Master Cook, Smith, and the land of Faery. A cute little tale that is very much worth your time. #Booksky
