Do not watch any trailers for Project Hail Mary, just trust its one of the best Sci Fi novels of the last 50 years and go in blind. You will appreciate knowing nothing more than getting hyped from the trailer.

I realize that with how limited time is that I'm being more judicious about how I spend it and who I spend it with. Energy is almost as precious as time in that respect. Can I write 500 words today? Do I play games for an hour? Do I take my son to the park? Better to make the choices consciously.

When I started reading this book I had a feeling I would love it, and then after running a one shot, I knew there was something special here. I'm beyond excited to dive into the world of the Wildsea with some of the best people I know.

I've changed careers slightly every new job I got. At first it hurt me. HMs would tell me I'm not specialized enough or didn't have expertise. Now, having intentionally learned so many skills, my versatility has become a huge asset in my career. Always learn, always grow. Don't give up.

Making money is easy. Making money while being ethical is a bit harder. I've noticed the past 8 years or so that the tech market (broadly) hasn't really focused on driving value, but on extracting it instead. Don't do this. You might make money, but it also just makes you an asshole.

I am thinking of doing some streams and/or videos to talk more in depth about some the things I've been posting about. Politics, philosophy, game design, etc. Let me know what you'd want to hear me talk about down below.

Every person you meet is having a pretty hard life. Sure, there are some exceptions, and yes people can be jerks. But just imagine how you were on your worst day, and remember that someone you're interacting with is having theirs. Be patient and kind when you can.

At my neighborhood park there is a little mini "library" asking people to take a book, leave a book. Have really felt like the local community here is pretty good. Have you ever seen something like this?

If you're someone who struggles with finishing projects (like me), don't tell people about your work in progress to get the dopamine hit. Wait until you're done. Often we subconsciously want the praise that comes with accomplishment. Better to finish and then get your flowers.

HOAs are awful, right? Yes, but... You can make them better. Most HOAs have elections every few years where the home owners can pick new people for their board. If you are tired of bad decisions and restrictions, organize! Start a neighborhood WhatsApp, meet, communicate. Change it!

I hope this is the last time I quit caffeine. These headaches are no jokes, but I know I'll be so much better off once I cut the chord once and for all. For those who have quit before, how long did it take for your withdrawal symptoms to stop?
