The Made in EU label won't save every factory in the short term. But it gives Europe something more valuable — a role to play in building the world order that comes next, rather than simply reacting to the one that's falling apart.

After 10+ years of plastic policies, EU
#circularity
is flat. Why? Uncoordinated oversupply kills recycling economics &plastic production in the EU. Solution: Regional Circularity Hubs—each region regulates supply, recycles locally, creates stable prices.

A key for the transition to
#circularity
is to have more prevention and reuse and we won't get that without funding. Today over 10 bilion eur finance packaging waste management in the EU whilst funding for prevention and reuse amounts to less than 500 million. This is why we call on the EU to 👇

It’s time to stop managing waste—and start preserving resources. Our latest report sets out a 2-pillar strategy to future-proof EPR across Europe. 🧱 Pillar 1: Optimise the system 🔹 Harmonise rules 🔹 Boost transparency & oversight 🔹 Tackle free-riding 🔹 Create an EU-wide advisory body (1/3)

The EU’s circularity rate has barely moved in a decade—just 1% increase since 2010. Meanwhile, waste generation keeps rising. If the EU wants to double circularity by 2030, we need more than recycling—we must tackle consumption. Walking on one leg won’t cut it

Is it worst to have a lack of ambition (aka EU 🇪🇺) or to have the wrong kind of ambition (aka USA 🇺🇸)? Interesting that between low ambition and wrong ambition, China 🇨🇳 could be showing the middle way 🤔 Thoughts?

Even if we could wait 50 years for chemical recycling to get to scale and provided it would work... it would still not solve the
#plasticpollution
crisis as
#recycling
is increasing slower than
#plasticproduction
or
#plastic
#wastegeneration
. The
#plasticstreaty
has to cap plastic production!
