Floriferous Princes of Florence (charming hand-made version) From last night’s game night. Floriferous is very cozy and has a nifty balance between set collection and end-game scoring choices. Princes of Florence is really great. It holds up with a solid amount of player interaction and planning.

Month of January 2026 plays! Mostly BGA plays and: 1) all so fun 2) I got at least one in-person play of both Castles of Burgundy and Twilight Struggle, which is always amazing.

Finished Rome & Roll solo. Beat Seneca 67 to 51. My final map doesn’t look super triumphant, but the game itself is super fun. Not as heavy as I was expecting. Feels lighter than Hadrian’s Wall maybe.

Just finished The Missionary Kids: Unmasking the Myths of White Evangelicalism, by Holly Berkley Fletcher. HIGHLY recommended. It nails the through line of the (white) American self-righteousness that pervades much of missionary work abroad. A difficult read (at times) that isn’t without hope.
