Fifty countries have ratified the High Seas Treaty, which would protect 30% of the world's oceans. The treaty will only become legally binding after 60 countries join. Major nations including the U.S., U.K., and China have yet to do so. We cannot afford to keep waiting to protect our oceans.

Extreme heat days are becoming more frequent around the world. In the past year, climate change has at least doubled the number of extreme heat days in 195 countries, according to a new report. Aruba had the most extreme heat days at 187, compared to an estimated 45 days without climate change.
