Was checking bases for finished masks/rtf bases. Doing lining and padding. One of them the bolts were loose on a hinge which after tightening the base completely broke at the hinge. I was like ok I can re orient the hinges to work and re bolt. And MORE hinge areas broke. Ok will just redo then…

Making padding for like tons of different resin base shapes is a mind melt lol. Why did I make so many options as a small time just 2 person business artist lmao. I’m a psycho. I am reaping the punishment. 😥

Every time I have tables at a con, I have brought something small and silly to give away for free. The last horror con I made 1 inch buttons of movie werewolves with my button maker. early RF I had glow bracelets. People are always amazed they can have a little treat.

I need to pass on this convention tradition to someone. I have a small bag of leftover leis, and lots of little business cards that have donation info. It’s a cute thing for a good cause. I will mail someone all of this so they can give them out at cons. Please lmk

Work room still needs lots of organizing and finding places to fit things before I can get even close to making anything. It’s taking a very long time and I had to stop a couple days ago as it was causing me immense distress. Will pick back up soon and try again.

I am not sure what like baseline skilled labor wage would be? I’ve looked it up for my state but it’s just all over the place. I don’t actually know what hourly wages reasonably are for a costume maker? Or 2d artist. Peeps say to time and then charge hourly but what’s the hourly to charge lmao?

Gonna say what everyone already knows. I have been behind on work since I started this business making $30 bases and $400 masks. I got better slowly but always undercut myself because I have underlying self worth problems. This has put me behind on owed work to this very day.

I’ve only ever done one panel in my life. A resin casting panel I shared with other makers and other makers attended. Rushed for con table compensation. But the whole time people’s stares felt like judgement and I was scared shitless. I felt awful and shitty afterwards. Idk how to be confident.

Just wish in all this time of being an artist in the fandom I would have ever been considered a goh. Would have been nice for my self esteem.

Hurts my heart that like all posts still do astronomically better on x than here. I hate even looking and realizing I will still have to give it the time of day because I can’t afford not to because people refuse to leave.

We decided the way I can be able to work on 3d works again is to make our storage room the work room. Private. Dangerous tools and other things out of reach from the baby. Just will work better. It’ll take insane furniture moving and probably weeks or reorganizing but it has to happen at this point.

I was already burning out by 2019. I knew when I had to take back every suit I delivered to a con for repairs that year, (and also experienced like 2 bad leg cramps due to long term malnutrition JUST during that con) it was getting bad. That’s basically what’s going on right now.
