An oldie but a goodie for #booksky Even though I’ve only ever read Jurassic Park by Michael, this still gripped me pretty much since the start. Some of the pacing had big issues, but I could not put this down! Sci-fi thriller under water? Yeah sign me up.

#booksky review: For the start of a #LitRPG series, this felt unique and interesting! There were moments that dragged the plot down just a hair. Besides that, having magical cards be the basis of your world (plus dragons) rocks and I’m excited to continue soon.

#booksky review! ML Wang is back at it, and this time with a light sapphic fantasy romance. Great moments of action are accentuated with great character depth. My only gripe is that I immediately wanted more, which thankfully is coming soon. The queen of self published fantasy strikes again!

#booksky review: This was a disappointment. The world of #MTG is so vast, and that’s what had me initially hooked. Add in a magical school element? I’m in. What started as cozy, or slow (which was fine), got somehow slower, then ramped up in the last 5 chapters seemingly out of nowhere. Meh.

Brief #booksky review Honestly this was impressive. It started as a seemingly predictable YA fantasy book with somewhat different flavors, but transformed into something unexpected, and in a great way!

#booksky review time! The rich get richer. It’s us, we’re richer. This book easily cracks the top 3 of the series for me. Just when I thought it couldn’t scale itself up any more, it says hold my Mongo. Seriously, if you haven’t tried this series yet, what are you waiting for???

#booksky Review: The little bits that were different or made my ears perk up were great. Otherwise, this was a regular Murderbot plot. It was like eating from your ole reliable diner around the corner. Not award winning every time, but no matter what’s on the menu, you’re going to like it.

#booksky review: This exceeded all expectations, especially for a debut novel. The main characters not only felt unique, but they were all flawed where it made sense. You didn’t have to like each of them, but by the end you fully understood them. Pick this up for a badass competent FMC

Another #booksky review I just didn’t jive with the prose as much as I wanted to. The few great plot points were surrounded by meandering character thoughts. I may pick up the second one once it comes out as long as reviews are good.

#booksky review! He can’t keep getting away with this! The series is impressive with how much is juggled and carried throughout, all while progressing a larger plot and having characters grow. Only hang up is that parts of the middle felt a bit bogged down by some of the actual strategy portion.

Any fan of Discworld, or satirical fantasy, should not only back this very cool project, but also read the Dark Profit saga. It’s probably some of my fav self published fantasy EVER!

ARC #booksky review!! This book serves as another example of the impressive ability of @fondalee.bsky.social to create engaging characters with so much depth, and this time in a standalone gritty sci-fi world. If you want a kickass sci-fi standalone, pick this up when it comes out May 5th!

My review for the newest from @marklawrenceauthor.bsky.social This is an excellent start to a fantasy trilogy. He does a fantastic job plotting and setting up a gritty world that you simply want more of. Snag this new release when you want something that will grip you until the end!

Quick #booksky review I’m not quite sure what the strategy with the plot was, because switching to a seemingly entirely different “gaming” system after laying out a vast and interesting one in the first book was not (in my opinion) in the top 5 of good thoughts.

Those crazy idiots did it. The Sabres won their division and made it look easy in arguably the hardest division in the league.

Quick #booksky review This felt like an Econ 201 class, but only for the most relevant stuff for current times. There were a couple formatting issues I had, and it was maybe lacking some “on the ground” or “here’s where you come in to make change”, but that’s just me.

Donald Trump is deranged. He must be impeached and removed from office. Republicans who don’t stop him will have blood on their hands, and anyone who carries out an order to bomb civilian targets will be complicit in war crimes and will be held accountable.

#booksky #fantasy Review! This was great! This was a super compelling way to start a series. Epic world building, great characters, with a solid political backdrop to boot. The prose and characters take more to get used to, at least for the first third, but other than that, this SLAPS.

#booksky review time Upon a re-read some 8 years later (gasp), I took my rating down a few notches. I’ve found myself admiring how Butcher blocks out scenes and uses dialogues, and finding the little similarities between this and Dresden is a delight. Bonus: this could be read as a standalone.

Quick novella #bluesky review Probably one of my favorite novellas out there. Especially given our current socioeconomic climate, this story hits hard. You’re immediately invested in our character and the world, and the journey he goes on. Can’t wait to continue this story this year!

Nonfic #booksky review! I totally get the hype for this book. Understanding the relationship between humans and “our” world (“our” = all life). The author does an excellent job in balancing stories with science with real world examples of how we could/did/should treat the earth. Highly recommend!

Another #booksky review! The idea was cool, the plot wasn’t bad, but the dialogue and pacing was tough. Our main character, a goblin didn’t really have distinct voice compared to others. Dang. I wanted this to be better.

Another #booksky review! This was good! The author does a great job at making characters and moments feel real (and messy, which is also real), especially at times with heavy emotions. I struggled with formatting and prose a bit, but for the most part once you get used to it, it’s fine.
